Same problem with me . I added Cover Video to my Facebook Business Page, but after uploading and selecting my appropriate thumbnail for the video, it no longer, nor has it ever, played when I visit my page. It only displays the static thumbnail that I selected. Is this a setting based on me being the admin of my page, or is there an issue with the video for auto-play? When I visit other pages that feature cover videos, they play automatically. I checked all the things but didn’t get any solution till now.

I own 3 facebook pages and can apply a cover video to all but 1 which is my main one, the video uploads, encodes, i submit and select thumbnail and all that appears is the thumbnail and nothing else works, the video uploads but will not play at all as a cover video yet it works fine on other pages, i've tried everything and i don't know what to do now.

  • 14 August 2017 and I have spend more than a WHOLE DAY of my time trying to upload an MP4 video for use as my Cover Image. I have read and understood ALL of the FB guidance on SIZE and FORMAT and ensured my clip conforms totally - yet every time I try to UPLOAD, whether as a COVER, or into an ALBUM, or within a POST the system crashes annoyingly with the spurious "something went wrong sorry you may try again later ..." - a totally useless message with NO indication of what is going wrong. This is just simply not good enough - I full y accept this is NEW and is likely to have BUGS but currently it is just giving FB tech a BAD NAME.

Trying to use a commercial video we posted on our church FB page last year--meets all the requirements... and then some (half of the video is missing because the cover window is too small!). Made it past step two to select the appropriate thumbnail and disable the autoloop. Then I get this: The video couldn't be uploaded. Please try again. Any thoughts?
